What do you have in YOUR room!?

I think girls tend to build a lot of clutter in their room..especially if they have a table or a desk. I can say I am guilty of this. However, at least I collect 'cute' things, like mugs or little buckets to hold my pens (that I never use). I have accessories (necklaces, headbands, earrings, bracelets) all over the place..I have like a billion pouches / make-up bags (with no make-up) that I have stuffed rings and earrings in and can never find them. How can we girls be a little more organized!? I guess it doesn't help when there are so many girly things out there that catch our attention. I can easily see myself purchasing at least 1 item from each photo above. From the first photo, I would choose a mug with the letter 'M' on it for my pens. In the 2nd photo I would probably choose a candle and never use it. I would probably just leave it on my window sill to add color to my room. As for the last photo, I want the desk! It's soo cute and I wouldn't mind owning a pink desk.. something that I can pile my mail and papers on. hehe So what would you choose to decorate your room!? I went to the Japan Fashion Week x Le Baron de Paris x Colette Halloween party as a maid tonight....Many people had amazing costumes...

some creepy..

some super funny....

some sexy...

some very creative........

I was very impressed by how many people were dressed up this year and how much fun everyone was having in their costumes!!!!!! This is how Halloween parties should be. This is going to be a very busy Halloween weekend and so far it's starting of GREAT!!! What are you going to be this year?!

after a good hour and a half, this was her final product..

Trip is an artist. She is also one of my very good friends. I love her art. There is something pop and dark about it. Everyone who sees her art always wants her to draw them something. It's not tooo girly cute but it's not too dirty either. I think it's rare to find a girl that has this sort of creativity. Anyone that can express themselves through their art like Trip does is what I would consider FABULOUS...By the way, TRIP is the brain of TRIP'S ANGELS.....

I'm HOOKED on this song..and what's awesome is that they are my FRIENDS! This is a group called FAR EAST MOVEMENT. These 4 Asian guys started this group and are now the at the TOP of the billboard charts!!! I'm sooo proud of them. Another friend of mine is their producer and you can actually see him in this video! Anyhow, the fact that these guys are 'asian' and are at the TOP of the billboard charts in the US..is purely AMAZING and FABULOUS!

Cover Your Ears

As it is getting extremely cold in Tokyo, I think it would be really helpful to wear these ear muffs to keep your ears warm. You might have a hard time hearing while wearing them but they are oh soooo cute. This comes in brown or black, perfect for autumn fashion and you can find them at FABULOUS CLOSET. They are a little like headphones but much MUCH warmer. I highly recommend these!

I noticed these heels at FABULOUS CLOSET the other day. Which color do you like?! And how would you wear them?! I like the red ones. I would wear the red ones to all my events and parties. As for the black & white ones, they are good for cocktail parties or a regular day at work. I think these beige ones are easy for 'cute' outfits..like pastel/floral prints. I don't think the beige ones match me so well however I can probably see myself wearing them to a wedding or on a 2nd date. (^-^)/

BAG LADY

I LOOOOOVE BAGS!!! I actually don't own any bags that look like these but I'm starting to feel like I should invest in one. I've been going to many events lately and I need a nice bag to carry my stuff instead of my artsy canvas totes. These are called Deux Lux...

These little pouches are actually pretty handy. My friend bought this at the opening. She said it fit her Iphone, chapstick and her other small necessities...I think it's too small for me tho as I have a camera, blackberry, schedule book, meishi case....etc..hehee

This one is sooo sophisticated! Great for going to a formal event...or a business meeting!? I like the scarf on the handle.. I think this is really in this year. I noticed a lot of this type of style at a lot of exhibitions this year.

This one is the same shape but the color makes it a little more pop. I can see someone who is wearing colorful tights carrying this bag. I'd probably see myself carrying this bag actually..hehe

I heart bags. I have a closet full..and I tried getting rid of some of them when I moved but ended up just keeping them in a box!!! Bags are a girl's best friend right!? I mean, next to shoes..oh shoes..that's another post...

LLOVE is an exhibition where you can stay over for the night for only 1 night. Each room is designed by a different artist. Have you ever imagined staying in a place like these rooms above!? I've been hearing some buzz recently about a Japanese band comprised of four 19 yr old boys that are considered to be the next 'Ramones'. They are a fun bunch to watch but my absolute favorite person to watch was the DRUMMER. OMG----he was hilarious!!!!! His face expressions and his movements were SO FUNNY! I think he captured more attention than the lead singer who was jumping around the entire time.

Anyway, the non-emotional base player was quite interesting as well. I heard these boys are signed on to SONY. Good luck boys! I can see them going global!

JAPAN FASHION WEEK

I went to only 1 show this year and it was for Phenomenon.

I have respect for all brands that are doing fashion shows during fashion week. It must take an incredible amount of hard work and patience to put together something this creative that only takes about 15 minutes to show. With our troubled economy these days I feel that a lot of high-end brands have not been doing much (events, fashion shows..etc..). Fabulous Closet on the other hand is a quite affordable brand and I would categorize it in the average/normal price range. I would like to see Fabulous Closet in one of the Girl's collections next year..Tokyo Girl's Collection or Girl's Award.

"BASICS" MUST HAVES...

loads of accessories, necklaces, rings, earrings, watches..

handbands...

For someone who doesn't have a lot of money to spend, I recommend spending the money you can on basics. For example, like above. You can do many things with a pair of denim cut offs if you change your shirt. You can wear tights under during winter when it gets cold, or wear them just as they are with some beach sandals in the summer. Owning a lot of accessories can really help diversify your look as well. It can help you look dressed up or dressed down. I've survived in fashionable Tokyo for this long without wearing out my wallet..so can you!

I hung out with Kelley Hasegawa the other day. I thought her style was very cute! Her pants are actually really skinny jeans and the floral print was eye-catching. I really like how she pulled off the denim shirt over her plain white T-shirt. I have a jean colored like shirt like that but couldn't figure out how I should wear it. Wearing boots with leggings or skinny jeans has always been a good look. I like Kelley's style. Which sister from Fabulous Closet would you categorize this? I say LILY.

BIANCA in TOKYO

A friend visited me from LA last week. She is actually my younger sister's best friend, so I've known her for over 10 years!!!! She's grown up soooo much! She's a fashion designer now for a brand called Dear Creatures. This brand is from LA and is hardly in Tokyo yet, but I really want it to come here. Bianca is so cute and her brand really matches her personality and style.Of course when anyone comes thru Tokyo, especially for the FIRST TIME, I take them to various fashion events and parties...hehe

and to experience real Japanese culture, I take them to a Maid Cafe in Akihabara..we went to @home maid cafe and the line was very long to get in (on every floor), so we chose the most colorful floor and the experience was worth it! You have to pay a sitting fee (700円/person) and also order at least one drink. It costs an extra 500円 to take a checki photo with your favorite maid.

When in Tokyo, one must also experience a Cat Cafe....I took them to NekoCafe club in Jiyuogaoka. This space is HUGE and they have cute scottish folds.

Crepes are also a good treat to have in Tokyo...Anyhow, Bianca is back in LA now and back to work. Last week was busy but so much fun. My sister comes to Tokyo next week. Can't wait!

The owner of this club is very into antiques. I love the design of this place. It's called TRUMP HOUSE and is located in Shibuya. It's a little difficult to find this place, but once you do, I guarantee that you will be impressed by the interior. This room is actually the 2nd floor. It's also often used for photo shoots and shooting music videos. If you are a new comer to Tokyo, I really recommend dropping by here.

Suspenders & Belts

Remember when we were young, and suspenders were totally in? But then somehow, they were forgotten.. and in the past few years, they started coming back! Everywhere I go, I can find a section of suspenders. So how do you wear suspenders? I think it's cutest when your pants are a little loose and the suspenders hold them up. I think I see more guys wearing suspenders than girls lately..the whole 'preppy' look is REALLY IN right now..However if I had to categorize suspenders in Fabulous Closet. I'd say they are LILY'S thing.

As for belts. WE MUST OWN BELTS! There are so many different styles of belts out there. I can't say that I really like any of the belts above, but belts in general are a great accessory. So if your pants are too lose and you don't think you can pull off suspenders, I recommend a funky belt (like the ones above) hehe!

I apologize for the delay in updates!!!! As most might know, it's very busy and hectic living in Tokyo! So many things going on all day and all night. I've been trying to think of what I should update about next and decided that I will compare my friends and their styles to the sisters of Fabulous Closet. It's quite interesting to find that most girls follow the same styles of at least 1 or 2 of the sisters.

I've noticed recently that BALLOONS are becoming a popular fashion art. I went to the Omotesando Collection today and every girl who walked in the KAKIMOTO ARMS stage had a special balloon piece attached to them. The photos shown above were my favorite. Back in August I went to an exhibition that displayed Balloon art too by Rie Hosokai. How amazing and detailed is this!? You can see below..

It's that season again where we can pull out our peacoats because it's cold enough. It really seems like this season's peacoats have gone more MILITARY. By the details of the designs, from the buttons to the cut, I feel that I need a pair of combat boots or doc martins to go along. I actually love wearing peacoats because it looks really cute to accessorize with just a pair of tights and BOOTS. I love FALL WEATHER!

It's FREEEEEZING in Tokyo all of a sudden!!! I wish I had me one of these panchos!!! All you need to do is put it over your head and everything will be nice and warm again. Is summer FINALLY over in Tokyo!?!?!! It was extremely cold last week!! However I feel that the heat is not completely gone as of yet, since it has also still been sunny and warm during some days. With the weather being unpredictable, I feel it's difficult to commit to leaving your home with a jacket, sweater, or coat. I stopped by Fabulous Closet the other day and realized that wearing a scarf or stole around your shoulders over just a simple T shirt could be warm enough for now. The scarf or stole could be kept in your bag without taking up too much room. I'm really into the checkered patterns right now so my choice is the top Stole. then later that night I met up with the others for YONE x KRINK's event

then went to the movies to see A-TEAM with LIV by bus. we heart the buses in Tokyo!

Life is so nice when you have a circle of girlfriends that you can have fun with!!! I'm so grateful to have all of these girls in my life!! Great friends are one of the most important things that will contribute to a fabulous life!

Japanese Wedding にじかい's are soooooo much fun. LOL...what friends would do for each other to show their love for you..it's measured by how much they would embarrass themselves for you on your wedding day...This is why i love Japan. hehe

the journey..OMG--SO FAR...

the wait was soo long.....so I did some yoga..

and after getting lost for a bit..we finally arrived!

it reminded me a little bit of Huntington beach, CA, in my hometown

An A-typically Busy But Super Fun Friday

I went to Yoga today and tried ASHTANGA YOGA!

やばかった！！！

then I had a lunch date with Baby Milo @ Daikanyama Sign Cafe

After this I did some errands for my bicycle in Harajuku @ FIG BIKE

this is the best way to get around tokyo!!!!

then..

I went to the supermarket to buy items to make dinner for my honey tonight..

and by the way, this is NOT my honey..HEHE

i just thought he was fabulously dressed.

i always get lost in the supermarkets and want to go down every aisle.

I always find really interesting products..

does anyone really think this works!?!?!

anyhow..I cooked dinner for my honey tonight...

spare ribs vegetable soup with boiled cabbage, carrots and potatoes

and a dish my mom taught me, potato x beef x onions x oyster sauce, to be eaten with rice. We watched our favorite TV drama together during dinner...and after my honey fell asleep..

I partied. hehe

A bloody day in Shinjuku

I don't normally come to Shinjuku, but I decided to visit a friend today..

On the way to Isetan, I ran across a lady holding this sign. Since moving to Japan, I became interested in my blood type but never had the time to actually find out what it was...so I ended up giving 400 ml of blood to red cross. The experience was NOT bad and I recommend anyone who can afford to do this(physically), to do it, because you can really help someone in need one day!!!

I found out that I am TYPE O! YAY!
After this, I wanted to eat some meat..so we went to look for a nice しゃぶしゃぶ place...

ビミヨウね。。

didn't want to eat this either...

nor this..but I was fascinated by how fabulously organized everything was...

and how cheap strip clubs were...

and how fabulously good looking these guys thought they were.

Ah..To a bloody day in Shinjuku.
